Chop trees for Resin; the reference favors red-leaf trees over ordinary green ones. If you need a small amount immediately, a player also reports gathering it from dead stumps and fallen logs. Treat that second method as a report, not a guaranteed drop rule.[1][2]

Match the source to the time you have
| Need | Source to consider | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| A few Resin for the next craft | Nearby red/yellow-leaf trees named by the material reference. | You can harvest now, but this page has no measured drop probability. |
| An immediate alternative while exploring | Dead stumps/fallen logs, as reported in the Resin PSA. | Worth checking what is already on your path; no universal per-stump yield is established. |
| A repeatable base-side supply later | Revelwood Red Leaf Seedlings mentioned in the reference. | Growing a supply takes setup and time, so it does not solve a recipe you need to craft immediately. |
The PSA author argues for stumps when away from a planted source. Its “always” and large-yield language is one person’s observation; this guide deliberately does not convert it into a guaranteed rate.[2]
Use the recipe shortfall as the stopping rule
- Choose the item or spell you intend to make and read its Resin requirement in your current crafting menu.
- Subtract the Resin already stored. Keep that shortfall visible while harvesting.
- Check the first few relevant trees or stumps along a safe route. If the drops are not appearing, change the source rather than treating the report as a promise.
- Return when the deficit is covered, especially if another ingredient is now the actual bottleneck.
This decision order avoids an inefficient detour: planting can be a sensible ongoing supply plan, while collecting a nearby few units is a better answer to a small current deficit. Neither choice requires a claim about the fastest Resin per minute.
What the evidence does and does not establish
The material reference supports red-leaf trees and seedlings. The community post adds a different observed source, not a controlled comparison. Its indexed date and relative page time disagree, so no claim is made that the method was newly discovered this week.[1][2]
