Look for Flintstone veins around the Springlands starting area. The documented nearby options are a cliff north of the Cinder Vault and a grassy hill northeast of Longkeep; keep ten Flintstone aside if Flame level 3 is your next upgrade.[1][2]
Choose a deposit from where you are

These are older published location descriptions, not newly surveyed 1.0 coordinates. “Northwest of your base” only works if the base is at the author’s original starting location. Relocate the search using Longkeep or the Cinder Vault before deciding the deposit is missing.[1]
Confirm the resource before digging deeper
- Bring a pickaxe and mine the identified vein.
- Read the item added to inventory. Stop if the surface is yielding the wrong material; a direction alone does not identify every nearby patch of terrain.
- Count the Flintstone needed for the current objective before using the rest on arrows or workstations.
The reference lists Flintstone as a mined material rather than a crafting recipe. This guide does not rely on an unverified world-reset trick or claim a guaranteed yield per swing.[1]
Leave the Flame offering out of the spending pile
The Flame Altar reference lists ten Flintstone among the level 3 offerings. If the upgrade is unfinished and you have 14 Flintstone, only four are surplus to that specific reserve. You still need the rest of the offerings, including the Matron’s progression drop; keeping ten Flintstone does not complete the entire upgrade.[2]
Once the upgrade is complete, remove the reserve rather than permanently hoarding ten. The rule follows an unfinished goal, so it remains useful even when your mining trip serves several recipes.
