The short route

Follow the Bard’s Eternally Piercing quest to its marked Hermit Camp objective and discover the magical-arrow recipe. Eternal Frost Arrow I is its reward; additional copies are crafted at a sheltered Hunter. Equip one as bow ammunition: it spends Mana instead of disappearing after each shot.[1][2]

Separate the quest reward from extra copies

  1. Free the Bard, Valory, and check her journal for Eternally Piercing. Its recorded objective is “Find The Magical Arrow.” The current database describes its start only as game progress; this guide does not invent an exact character-level trigger.[1]
  2. Track the objective toward Hermit Camp. Investigate the marked Hidden Crafting Recipes — Blackmire discovery rather than only clearing enemies or looting unrelated containers. The quest reference records that discovery as completion.[1]
  3. Check the reward and visit the Hunter under a roof. The item reference ties crafting knowledge to the same discovery; rescuing the Hunter by itself is not the entire unlock.[2]

This is a world quest in the current reference. A second player needing ammunition should check crafting after the shared discovery rather than assuming the journal reward repeats for each character. The reference does not establish how every migrated multiplayer save propagates knowledge; confirm the recipe on the character who will craft.

These are the ingredient amounts for the current item entry, not ammunition consumed per shot.[2] If you already own a usable arrow, crafting ten more does not remove its Mana cost.

The Goo requirement hides another Bug Dust cost. Starting with no Goo, crafting its fifteen units uses fifteen more Bug Dust, thirty Shroud Mushrooms and fifteen Springlands Dirt. Add the arrow’s direct fifteen Bug Dust: the combined subtotal is thirty Bug Dust. Use the Goo stock planner to deduct materials already held. This arithmetic uses the Goo recipe cited there; it does not estimate gathering time.

Choose between equipping, enhancing and a later recipe

What you needNext action
Repeated shots without ordinary-arrow stacksPut an Eternal Arrow in the bow ammunition slot and budget Mana. It is not a zero-cost arrow.
A stronger copy of the same arrowUse the relevant crafter’s enhancement interface and inspect the next perk and Rune cost before buying it. Enhancing an item differs from learning another recipe.
A later Eternal Arrow tierCheck its own recipe or quest. The published Frost II recipe is tied to collecting an Enshrouded Cyclops Eye; enhancing Frost I does not establish that unlock.

The current Frost I item lists three enhancement slots. Keen confirms that Eternals can be improved like equipment; exact effects depend on the item.[2][3] The later-tier example is from AllThingsHow’s 1.0 recipe table.[4]
